Dirk Fischer has worked with artists all over Europe and Asia. As an independent record producer and engineer he has recorded for various labels in widely diverse settings over the past ten years. Born to German parents in The Netherlands, he currently resides in Berlin and Singapore.

During his studies at The Royal Conservatoire The Hague, Dirk worked as an intern at Polyhymnia International, the former Philips Classics Recording Centre. There, he was involved in many early surround recording projects for the Super Audio CD. In the following years he worked as a tape editor and freelance engineer for artists such as Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Alfred Brendel, Mitsuko Uchida, Seiji Ozawa, Iván Fischer, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Pieter Wispelwey, Lorraine Hunt Lieberson and many others.

From 2005 – 07 he was appointed senior engineer of the recording department of international music publisher De Haske Publications, where he worked closely with contemporary composers such as Philip Sparke, Franco Cesarini, Jacob de Haan, Kevin Houben and Peter Kleine Schaars. Many of the artists he recorded for De Haske are regarded as the finest in their trade, e.g. Nobuya Sugawa, Niels Bijl, Steven Mead, Frits Damrow, Allen Vizzutti, Roger Webster, Emily Beynon, Paul van Zelm, Ronald Moelker and Allard Buwalda.

In 2008, Dirk's projects included live-recordings of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra at the Beijing Grand National Theatre for China Central Television, engineering the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under Shui Lan with Emanuel Ax at Singapore's Esplanade Concert Hall and recording further sessions of Paavo Järvi’s complete Beethoven symphonies cycle with Die Kammerphilharmonie Bremen at Berlin’s Funkhaus Nalepastrasse, from which the first release won the acclaimed German Record Critics’ Award in 2007.

Currently, Dirk offers cost-effective recording packages for international customers, such as high-quality location recordings with post-production in Southeast Asia, and complete studio recordings in Beijing, China.
