12th - 14th: Hamburg, Germany - 'Abbonda di virtu - Italian Recorder Music through the Ages'
Second and last set of sessions, started in october 2008. Dirk again produced and engineered the recording with his portable recording set, this time at the Johannesgemeinde, a small church in Rissen, just outside of Hamburg. Marion Fermé played solo pieces and was accompanied by medieval harp, psalterio and harpsichord.

Post-production of the recordings with Izhar Elias and Jörn Boysen's ensemble Musica Poetica has been finished.

28th - 31st: Hamburg, Germany - 'Abbonda di virtu - Italian Recorder Music through the Ages'
In the chamber music hall of Hamburg's Musikseminar, french recorder player Marion Fermé set out to record an overview of Italian repertoire for her instrument, encorporating solo-, ensemble- and vocal pieces. Dirk produced and engineered the recording, which will be continued next year.
21st - 26th: Oosthuizen, Netherlands - 'Rossini's Semiramide'
Dutch guitarist Izhar Elias chose a world premiere for his next Solo CD, to be released on Brilliant Classics in 2009. For the recording of Mauro Giuliani's arrangements of Rossini's opera 'Semiramide', he used an original historical Guadagnini guitar with gut strings. Dirk produced the sessions and provided a Pyramix system, while the sound was beautifully engineered by Jef Hen.
18th - 20th: Valthermond, Netherlands - 'Musicalische Frühlings=Früchte'
Jörn Boysen and his ensemble Musica Poetica travelled to the recording studio 'Onder de Linden' in the northern Dutch countryside to record pieces of 17th century composers Flor and Becker. The intense sessions were produced by Dirk, and while he balanced the recording, engineer Daan van Aalst operated the recording equipment. Release will be in 2009 on Challenge Classics.
August 2008
21st - 26th: Berlin, Germany - 'Beethoven 9'
Dirk joins American producer Philip Traugott and balance engineers Jean-Marie Geijsen and Everett Porter of Polyhymnia International to record Beethoven's 9th symphony at the 'Funkhaus Nalepastrasse'. On the brink of concluding Paavo Järvi's complete cycle with Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the team has worked together since the first sessions in June 2004. Symphonies 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 already being released by the RCA Red Seal label, the first coupling, symphonies 3 and 8, has earned the acclaimed German Record Critics’ Award in 2007.
